WarrPAC Work Wednesday – Emotional Health and Wellbeing Panel [EHWBP]

WWW

The EHWBP looks at better outcomes regarding emotional health for people of all ages and backgrounds. In improving these outcomes, the board looks at a holistic view of the services they access. When examining these services, the panel discusses how best to use available funding, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services [CAMHS] and how we can build capacity for our children and young people.

This is one of the areas where WarrPAC have been able to give our members a voice as we had representatives on the ‘Task & Finish Group’, a group that’s job it is to examine the idea thoroughly checking to see if it will work for children and young people and if there are any bugs or problems in the system being able to sort them before it is used on real cases. Our input went into the development of tier 2 CAMHS. We also look at how we can achieve better educational achievement for children and young people. This is only a small part of the work we do with this panel. The panel itself has to be very reactive as new funding is allocated, issues arise nationally and locally and any emergencies that are brought to the attention of the group.

The EHWBP is another reason why your voice matters and in knowing what you think about services, your family’s experiences of them and your praise or suggestions for them are vital as it allows us to represent effectively. Our work on the Task & Finish Group is nothing if we don’t know the real life experiences of local families.

If you have anything you wish to share or think is relevant for the EHWBP then please share it with us, you can do so by using the contact page
